The Ministry of Tourism of Finland has a new campaign regarding Lapland and Santa Claus. This year, kids can be voted by their family & friends whether they are naughty or nice on the blockchain. With the aid of a smart contract, every kid who is voted “Nice” will receive a gift from Santa. Those who are on the naughty list will also get a lump of coal.

To put this in gear, the Ministry of Tourism will work hand-in-hand with the National Population Commission of Finland. With permission from parents, each child’s identity will be placed on the blockchain and family/friends will have the ability to vote. It was announced that a DApp is being created to make this entire process seamless and easy.

All this is in a bid to increase web3 adoption in Finland, and also include the government in the Christmas festivities in each home. “We want Finnish children to know that there is a reward for being nice, and for being naughty. We also want to bring the people together and try something fun & different for Christmas. By using the blockchain, we get to celebrate the festivities and also increase web3 adoption in the country,” said the Minister of Tourism.

It is not certain if the Finnish government plans to work with the Santa Coin team to provide tokens for the Christmas campaign. What is certain, however, is that this is the first of its kind. It will definitely place Finland ahead on the web3 adoption scale if this is a successful campaign. To read more about this, visit https://www.visitfinland.com/en/places-to-go/lapland/
